The Public Affairs Section of the United States Consulate General, Lagos, has reiterated its commitment to continuously empower more Nigerian women and make them self-reliant.
Rhonda Watson, Public Diplomacy officer of the section stated this on Tuesday during an information and communications technology, ICT, workshop organised for Nigerian small and medium scale businesswomen.
Titled, Entrepreneurship and Technology Programme for Women, the event was held to commemorate the Women’s History Month, themed, “Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.”
While addressing the women on the topic, “Harnessing and Utilising Technology Effectively for Business Success,” Binta Adesida, an official of Union Bank Plc emphasised the importance of adopting technological strategies to boost businesses in the small and medium scale sector.
Participants were also taken through various interactive sessions to improve their financial management, human resources management and ICT skills in order to manage their businesses effectively
The ICT capacity building workshop was organised in partnership with the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre, W.TEC, Union Bank, LeadWay Assurance and Global Shapers, Lagos.
