The leadership crisis in the House of Representatives appears to have been solved, as Femi Gbajabiamila, the three-term member, representing Surulere Federal Constituency of Lagos, emerged the Majority Leader of the 8th House.
Yakubu Dogara, the speaker of the house, announced his appointment as they resumed sitting earlier today, Tuesday, July 28. Other positions announced by the leadership of the green chamber include Buba Jubril as the deputy majority leader, Alhassan Dogwa was made the Chief Whip and Pally Iriase was chosen as the deputy whip.
It could be recalled that the lower chamber has been rocked by crisis ever since the emergence of Dogara as Speaker in June, a move that contradict the stand of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who chose Gbajabiamila for the Speakership.
